Drugstore Makeup Haul | UNBOXING & REVIEW

Hi all! This is an update to my latest video “Drugstore Makeup Haul March 2017 | Unboxing & Review” on YouTube.

Please watch it if you haven’t watch it yet! 🙂

  • Bourjois  Healthy Mix Foundation

I’ve tried this for a week, and the most obvious difference that I can see between Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum is, this foundation oxidizes! The foundation gets darker after a few hours. I remember my first time using it to go to a wedding, and after a few hours, I was quite surprised when I see my face looks darker 😯 Then only I realized that this foundation oxidizes throughout the day. I had never encountered this with the serum. I’ve been using Bourjois Mix Serum for almost 4 years already in the shade of 52 Vanille. That’s how i ended up choosing the same shades for my Bourjois Mix Foundation. I was wrong! You cannot choose the same shades as the serum did not oxidize while the foundation did oxidize. My best advise is to purchase the foundation in 1 or 2 shades lighter than the serum’s shade.

There are only 5 shades available for both foundation and serum :

51 – LIGHT CLAIR
52 – VANILLE
53 – BEIGE CLAIR
54 – BEIGE
55 – BEIGE FONCE

I would highly recommend for you to purchase the serum first as I still thinks nothing beats the serum. It is very lightweight and looks so natural on your skin, perfect for “no makeup makeup look“. The foundation is quite thick but it does not look heavy on face, just it suits for those that prefers medium to full coverage. Choose the best shade for the serum that suits your skin tone well and then only you can purchase the foundation but in 1 or 2 shades lighter.

Bourjois is available at Watsons.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum : Watsons RM 61.35

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation : Watsons RM 59.90

Both in shades 52 – Vanille

Swatches test on hand. You can see that the foundation is slightly darker than the serum although both are also in the same shades. Do not worry yet if it looks too light for your skintone, you need to blend it well.

After blending the foundation. It match my skin tone but it turns darker after a few hours.

  • Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water VS Biorderma Sensibio H2O

Do you love to apply eye makeup? Do you wear waterproof mascara on daily basis? If the answer is yes, you need to purchase Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. I’ve tried it for so many times as I love Bioderma too much, and I won’t replace it for other products. Unfortunately, Garnier beats Bioderma on the eye makeup removal 🙁 Don’t get me wrong, Bioderma is still the best! I would highly recommend you to switch your makeup remover that you are using now with Bioderma! It removes makeup so clean with just one wipe. However, every product have their own weakness. I’ve come to my conclusion that Garnier removes eye makeup way better than Bioderma. It removes waterproof mascara so easy compare to Bioderma but it cannot beat Bioderma on the full face makeup removal. Therefore, I need to combine both Bioderma and Garnier in my skin care routine. The only downside of Garnier when you use it to remove eye makeup is, it will sting your eyes a little bit. Don’t use too much of it. Bioderma never sting my eyes but sadly, it cannot remove eyes makeup easily as Garnier did.

Bioderma – Full face except eyes

Garnier – Eyes only

Both products are available at Guardian and Watson.

Bioderma :  Watsons RM108.90 (Big size) / Guardian RM 109.58 (Big size)

Garnier  :  Watsons RM 14.50 (Small size) / Guardian RM 14.50 (Small size)

3. Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in Light Shade

This bronzer definitely lives up to its high rave! I would definitely recommend you to buy it! With a drugstore price and creamy powdery texture, it have definitely win me over! It does not look chalky on my face, and very easy to apply and blend. I can definitely see the shimmer in this bronzer and my face have this kind of warm glow whenever i bronze my face using this product. It just warm up my skin with a soft beige color, with a little bit of gold to it.  As it is infused with a murumuru butter, that explains the butter scent whenever I open the bronzer. The scent totally reminds me of tropical beach! It’s a good combination with my Bourjois serum! I love the fruity scent of my Bourjois serum, and now with this buttery bronzer scent, feels like my face smells so good!

I would recommend this bronzer for any beginners that would like to do light contour or light bronze their face. I don’t think you can overdo your face with this product as it is not too pigmented and have such as soft natural texture that no matter how many times you build layers on your face, it still comes out as natural warm glow. It acts just to add a little warmness to your face. Perfect for daily use!

The bronzer is not available yet in Malaysia, but there’s many local Instagram sellers that sell this product and you may buy from them.

It comes with a small sponge applicator and mirror. I would suggest you to ditch the sponge and use any brush instead to apply the bronzer. It’s easier to blend using brush. Thumbs down for the sponge.

Beautiful bronze creamy powder!

This is only one swatch, and it is light on skin. You can build in layers to get the warmness depth that you want.

Just have fun and do makeup your way! The best feeling ever is when you’re comfortable with your skin and your own makeup look!

Much Love,
